Assam Science & Technology University (ASTU) Notification 2024: ASTU has released an official notification for positions of Teaching Assignment. According to the official notification of ASTU.

Applications are invited for interview for the following teaching engagements for self- financing courses on a temporary basis. Teaching engagement will be for one semester, renewable for one more semester, with a maximum of 11 months. Engagement would also be considered as guest faculty, as per need of the university.

ASTU Recruitment 2024 : Eligibility Criteria

ASTU Vacancy : Education Qualification

1. Sciences: 

• As per AICTE/ UGC norms (for teaching UG/PG Engineering program(s). The preference will be given to those teachers who have already suitable experience to teach multiple subjects in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (for engineers). The applicants may also apply for their preferred/ specialized individual/ group of subjects from amongst Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology for engineers.
•  Persons having teaching experience in Engineering Colleges will be preferred

2. Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Graphics, workshop, Design Thinking etc 

• As per AICTE/ UGC norms (for teaching UG/PG Engineering program(s)). Specialization preferred in the areas of Electrical engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering, Civil Engineering and its allied subjects.
• Persons having teaching experience in Engineering Colleges will be preferred.

3. Computer Science and Engineering 

• As per AICTE/ UGC norms (for teaching UG/PG Engineering program(s).

ASTU Recruitment 2024 : Disciplines

Sciences: Disciplines

• UG teaching for Engineering students for teaching sciences, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology for Engineers. The syllabi for these courses will be as per AICTE guidelines. These courses involve laboratory component(s) as well as projects, demonstrations etc.

Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Graphics, workshop, Design Thinking etc: Disciplines

• UG teaching for Engineering students for teaching Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Graphics, workshop, Design Thinking etc. The syllabi for these courses will be as per AICTE guidelines. These courses involve laboratory components(s) as projects, demonstrations etc.

Computer Science and Engineering: Disciplines

• Teaching M.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering subjects, and UG Computer subjects. The syllabi for these courses will be as per AICTE guidelines. These courses involve laboratory components(s) as well as projects, demonstrations etc.

Notes: 

1. The applicants should possess B.E/B.Tech. (CSE or Information Technology (IT)) and M.E./M.Tech. (CSE or Information Technology (IT)).
2. The applicant should have first class in:

• B.E/B.Tech. (CSE or Information Technology (IT)),

 OR

• M.E./M.Tech. (CSE or Information Technology (IT)).

Additionally, the applicant should have experience in research in related area(s) of CSE or IT. Persons having teaching experience in Engineering Colleges will be preferred.

Assam Science and Technology University Recruitment : Remuneration

• Consolidated payment between Rs. 25000/- to Rs. 60,000/- per month, depending on expertise, experience and willingness to work on holidays and extra hours. These engagements are with consolidated pay and the university is not liable to pay any additional allowances.
• The applicants would also be considered for engagement as guest faculty as well. The terms and conditions of guest faculty will be as per prevailing guidelines as adopted by the university, and they will be paid on lecture basis.

Assam Science & Technology University Recruitment: General Instructions

1. The engagement will be for one semester, renewable for one more semester, with maximum of 11 months.
2.  The engagement is to be made on purely temporary basis and services would be liable to be terminated without assigning any reason thereof. These are temporary basis engagements and terminable with 24 hours’ notice.
3.  Eligibility of a candidate and any other Short-listing criteria shall be considered as on the last date of submission of application.
4. Mere fulfilment of minimum criteria with the shortlisted candidate does not entitle him/her for the claim. 
5. Application submitted after the last date and time, (ii) application(s) incomplete in any respect and (iii) any fresh paper / enclosures after closing date, shall not be considered.
6. Certificate in support of experience should be in proper format ie. it should be on the organization’s letter head, bear the date of issue, specific period of work, name and designation of the issuing authority along with his/her signature.
7.  The University shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate at any time or during the tenure of the engagement. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by the candidates are fake or the candidate has a clandestine antecedents/background and has suppressed the said information, then his/her engagement shall be terminated.
8.  In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issue of appointment letter, the University reserves the right to modify/withdraw/ cancel any communication made to the candidates.
9. In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the University shall be final and binding.
10.  Candidates must bring all the original marksheets and experience certificate at the time of interview.
11. University may reject any candidate without assigning any reason.

12. The selected candidate has to join immediately for the assignment
13. Canvassing in any form may lead to disqualification
14. No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.
15.  Any addendum/corrigendum and related notifications will be published on the University website: www.astu.ac.in only. Applicants are advised to regularly check the University website for any update/notification.
16. The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised engagement at any time without assigning any reasons.
17. All disputes will be under the Jurisdiction of Guwahati, Assam only.
18. On the envelope containing application materials, the applicant should indicate “Advertisement No. 01/2024: Application for the Teaching Assignment(s) June 2024

<with appropriate choice(s) where choices are to be filled as:

(A) Sciences

(B) Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Graphics, Workshop, Design Thinking, etc.

(C) Computer Science and Engineering 

retaining only those choices as applicable.

Further, for Sciences, you may further like to further restrict by specifying combination of

(Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology)”.

19.  Please Enclose:

• No Objection Certificate for application from the parent department/organization / Institution.
• A certificate from the parent Department/Organization / Institution to the effect that no departmental enquiry is proposed or pending against you, and, Self-attested copies of Certificates/letters to support your claims (about educational qualifications/experience/representation on university committees, etc.) in parts below as included in this application

The Assam Science and Technology University was established by Government of Assam under Assam Science & Technology University Act 2009. It aims to provide education and research in the field of science & technology and other professional courses in Assam. ASTU is the premier and only technical university in the North Eastern Region of India.
