Armed Forces Medical Services Notification 2024: Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) has released an official notification for positions of Medical Officer Post. According to the official notification of Armed Forces Medical Services, there are only 450 vacancies available.
The Army Medical Corps under the Ministry of Defence has released the notification for the recruitment of Medical Officers in Armed Forces Medical Staff (AFMS). The application process will start on the official website of Army Medical Corps amcsscentry.gov.in. Application forms will be open from 16 July 2024 to 4 August 2024. A total of 450 vacancies are to be filled by the officers. The recruited candidates will join Short Service Commission Medical Officers. ARMY AFMS Recruitment Notification out
Online applications are invited for the post of Short Service Commissioned Medical Officer in the Armed Forces Medical Services from Indian citizens both male and female, who have passed their final MBBS (Part-I & II) examination in not more than two attempts and will complete / have completed their internship on or before 15 Aug 2024 and have qualified in the NEET PG (anytime during the last two years i.e 2022 & 2023).
Civilian doctors having a Postgraduate degree will not be required to appear in the NEET PG again. Marks obtained by them in NEET PG examination earlier will be taken into consideration. Applicants who have taken more than two chances to pass the Final MBBS (Part I & II) Examination are ineligible and hence should not apply for the same.

Armed Forces Medical Services Recruitment: Age Limit
Male and female candidates holding an MBBS degree can apply for the post of Medical Officer in Armed Forces Medical Services. It is necessary that the age limit of the candidate should not exceed 30 years if he has an MBBS degree. If a candidate holds a PG degree, his age should not exceed 35 years.

For this Career Opportunities, Being a Medical Officer of the Armed Forces Medical Services, the candidate on grant of commission is liable to be posted as per service requirement in any part of the country or abroad, in the Army, Navy or Air Force.

Armed Forces AFMS SSC Medical Officer Recruitment 2024 : Promotion For Ssc Officer
For this Requirement, the SSC officers are commissioned as Capt (or equivalent rank in Navy/ Air Force) on entry and are eligible for promotion upto the rank of Major (or equivalent rank in Navy/ Air Force) after four years of service and Lt Col (or equivalent rank in Navy/Air Force) after a total service of eleven years, subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria. A candidate who holds additional medical qualification of Post-Graduate Degree (MCI/NBE recognized) prior to joining service is eligible to apply for ante date seniority after grant of commission, applicable as per existing rules.

The selection of a Medical Officer will be done on the basis of the interview. AFMS has released the time period in which they will conduct the interview of male and female candidates having MBBS degree. After the application process starts candidates have to register themselves. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for the interview process which is scheduled to be held in the month of August/September 2024.

Method Of Selection
- Shortlisting Of Candidates For Interview : Applications complete in all respects will be further scrutinized/ filtered on the basis of NEET PG entrance examination marks. Marks obtained by the candidates in NEET PG entrance examination will be proportionately converted to the tune of 200 marks and separate lists for male & female candidates will be prepared. Candidates will be called up for interview in the order of the list (separate lists for male and female candidates) based upon NEET PG examination marks upto 08 times of the number of vacancies sanctioned/available to appear for viva-voce/interview.
- Interview : Eligible candidates will be called for interview by a Board of Officers in the month of Aug/Sep 2024 at the Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi Cantt to assess their suitability and merit for grant of Short Service Commission in the Armed Forces Medical Services. The candidates appearing for interview for the first time will be paid to and fro III AC railway/bus fare.
- Physical & Medical Standards : Every candidate on qualifying in the interview will have to attend the Special Medical Examination Board (SMB) constituted by the DGAFMS for examining his/her medical fitness as per laid down standards. The proceedings will remain confidential. However, candidates declared ‘UNFIT’ by the Special Medical Board (SMB) may apply for the Appeal Medical Board (AMB). The procedure for AMB will be explained by the President of the Special Medical Board.
Armed Forces AFMS SSC Medical Officer Recruitment 2024 : Application Processing Fee
For this Requirement, A Fee of Rs. 200/- will be charged from the applicants towards application processing. The requisite amount is required to be paid at the end of the application submission through online payment (internet banking/ Credit Card/Debit Card).

The Admit card for interview shall be made available on website www.amcsscentry.gov.in only at least one week prior to the interview.
Indin Army Doctor Recruitment 2024 : Important Documents For the time of Interview
- Matriculation Certificate (Class X)/Birth Certificate issued by Municipal Corporation as a proof of name and date of birth (Born after 1992).
- Aadhar Card.
- Permanent Medical Registration Certificate.
- Internship Completion Certificate.
- MBBS Degree Certificate, PG Degree Certificate.

ARMY AFMS Recruitment 2024 : Merit List Published
- All candidates who have qualified in the viva/interview (by securing at least 50% marks) will be subjected to medical examination immediately after the interview.
- It is to be noted that mere qualifying at the interview does not confirm final selection. Separate merit lists of both male and female candidates, who obtain minimum qualifying marks of 50% in the viva-voce, will be drawn up by adding the NEET PG marks (after prorating them out of a maximum of 200 marks) and marks obtained in viva-voce (50 marks).
- From the prepared merit lists the candidates declared Medically FIT shall be issued joining instructions for commissioning as SSC Officers upto the number of vacancies available for each merit list.
Candidates are advised to note that DGAFMS/DG-1A has no role to play in Appeal Medical Boards (AMB) and the procedure advised by the medical authorities is strictly to be adhered to. The Candidates declared ‘UNFIT’ by the AMB may apply for the Review Medical Board (RMB). However, the Review Medical Board (RMB) will be granted at the discretion of the DGAFMS based on the merits of the case. No representation in this regard will be entertained. Candidates will be considered medically ‘FIT’ only on receipt of approved medical documents.
Pregnancy, if detected at any stage, after qualification at interview or during pre-commission Medical Examination will render the candidate ‘TEMPORARILY UNFIT’.
