Railway Recruitment Cell Western Railway Notification 2024: RRC WR has released an official notification for positions of Sports Person. According to the official notification of RRCs Western Railway (RRC WR), There are only 64 vacancies available.  

Western Railway invites ONLINE applications from the eligible sports persons who are citizens of India, for filling up 21 posts of group ‘C’ and 43 (erstwhile Group ‘D’) posts of group ‘D’ of the Sports Quota (as in item 2) for the year 2024-25 over Western Railway. There is no reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS.

 The notification was issued by the Railway Recruitment Cell, Western Railway has released an official notification for positions of Sports Person. Railway Recruitment Cell Recruitment 2024 : Discipline wise Vacancy Details

For Vacancy, A total of 64 vacancies Have been notified under the WR Sports Quota.

Various positions are available for Sports Person, categorized by discipline as detailed in Below.

Note: The sports persons having the sports norms of level 5/4 and applied against the level 3/2 shall be considered only in the level 3/2 and at the time of trial, he/she will have to submit undertaking that after joining Railway, he/she will not claim for higher level of pay on the basis of sports achievement prior to joining Railways

If vacancies in level 5/4 of a particular sports discipline are not filled due to non-availability of suitable candidates, such vacancies will be filled in level 3/2 from the same discipline.

RRC WR Sports Quota Recruitment 2024 : Eligibility Criteria

RRC Railway Jobs 2024 : Education Qualification

Railway Vacancy Minimum Qualification: 

Candidates should possess the following requisite Educational Qualifications as on 09.08.2024.

WR Sports Quota Level 1 Vacancy : Railway Jobs 2024

• Passed 10 or its equivalent examination. 
• OR ITI
• OR Diploma
• OR Equivalent
• OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT
• Educational Qualification must be from a Recognized Institution

WR Sports Quota Level 3/2 Posts : Railway Job Vacancy 2024

• Passed 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination. Educational Qualification must be from a Recognized Institution. 

OR 

Pass Matriculation from recognized Board Plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship. 

OR 

• Passed Matriculation from recognized Board plus ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT 

OR 

• Passed Matriculation from recognized Board plus Diploma approved by Recognized Institution.

WR Sports Quota career : Level 5/4 post

Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University.

Note: 

1. Persons if appointed to the category of Clerk-cum-Typist should acquire Typing proficiency Test of 30 w.p.m. in English or 25 w.p.m. in Hindi within a period of four years from the date of appointment and till such time their appointments to this category will be provisional.
2. Candidates possessing higher qualification should produce relevant certificate at the time of trial.

RRC WR Sports Quota Recruitment 2024 : Age Limit 

RRC WR Vacancy: Upper Age limit

The candidates Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 01/01/2025. Candidates born between 02/01/2000 and 01/01/2007 (both days inclusive) should only apply.

RRC WR Sports Quota Vacancy 2024 : Sports Achievements

• Only those sportspersons who have acquired the sports achievement eligibility norms in the Championship from 01/04/2022 to the date of notification and are active will be eligible to apply for appointment against Sports Quota.
• For validity of sports achievement, the concluding day of the championship/event shall be taken into account.
• The specific position played in the particular discipline, if applicable, should be mentioned in the ONLINE Application without fail.

RRC WR Sports Quota Recruitment 2024: Pay Scale and Minimum Qualifying marks

Minimum qualifying marks for recruitment through Open Advertisement Sports Quota for post in Level-5/4, Level-3/2 & Level-1 is as follows:

Note: The offer of appointment shall be given purely on the basis of merit. In case more than one sportspersons score the same marks, preference will be given to younger candidate to decide the merit.

RRC WR Careers 2024 : Application Fee:

Category	Fee
For all candidates except those mentioned in sub-Para (ii) below	Rs. 500/- (Rs. Five Hundred Only), with a provision of refunding Rs 400/- (Rs Four Hundred Only) to those who are found eligible as per notification and actually appeared in the Trial, after deducting bank charges.
For candidates belonging to SC/ST/ Ex-Servicemen / Persons with Disability /Women/Minorities and Economic Backward Class	Rs. 250/- (Rs. Two Hundred Fifty Only) with a provision of refunding the same to those who are found eligible as per notification and actually appeared in the Trial, after deducting bank charges. Candidates in this category should check their eligibility thoroughly before applying. Fee in respect of candidates who are ineligible, but still apply, shall not be refunded.

• Fee payment will have to be made online through payment gateway as part of online application process.
• After ensuring the correctness of the particulars in the application form, candidates are required to pay fees through the payment gateway which has been integrated with the online application. No change / edit option will be allowed thereafter.
• The payment can be made by using Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking etc. by providing required details information as asked on the screen. Transaction charges for online payment, if any, will be borne by the candidates.
• On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt with the date entered by the candidate will be generated which should be saved / printed and retained by the candidate. It may be invariably ensured that payment of fee is made through online mode. The applications without the payment of fee will be summarily rejected.

Railway Recruitment Cell Western Railway Recruitment 2024: Selection Process

All eligible candidates will be called for trial and after trial, only the FIT candidates (securing 25 or more, out of 40 marks for Game skill, physical fitness and coach’s observations during trial) shall be assessed for the next stage of recruitment. Candidates declared NOT FIT by the Trial Committee will not be assessed further by the Recruitment Committee.

Distribution of marks shall be as under:

How to Apply for RRC WR Recruitment 2024?

• Visit the RRC WR official website.
• Click on the Link “Sports Quota Online Form 2024” ONLINE Application.
• Now, Fill the detail i.e. Name, Father’s Name, Community, Category, Mobile no., Email ID & Date of Birth and Register. On successful registration  will get Password for login subsequently on given Email ID & by SMS on registered Mobile Number.
• After filling up the Application Form, Pay online Fee (Except exemption category) and Upload required documents and submit finally.
• Photograph(3.5 cm x 3.5 cm), Signature (3.5 cm x 2.5 cm) Impression having size( in jpg format & Save Images and upload certificates like:- Educational, Caste, PWD & Ex-SM certificates etc. On completion candidates can take print of application & Fee payment slip for candidate purpose record only.
• At the end, Print your online application. You will need it if you are called for document verification.

Scanned Photograph/soft Copy Of Photograph:

Candidates are required to upload their colour photograph (size 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm, which should not be older than three months from the date of application, JPG/JPEG format, 100 DPI, size of the file should be between 20 kb-70 kb) with clear front view of the candidate without cap and sunglasses. Candidates may note that RRC/WR may, at any stage, reject the applications for uploading old / unclear photograph or for any significant variations between photograph uploaded in the Application Form and the actual physical appearance of the candidate. Candidates are advised to keep two additional copies of the same photograph ready which has been uploaded while applying online and

produce the same at the time of Document Verification.

Scanned Signature/soft Copy Of Image Of Signature:

Candidates are also required to upload their signature (size 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm, JPG/JPEG format, 100 DPI,size of the file should be between 20 kb to 30 kb). Scanned signature should not be in block/capital or disjoined letter.

Documents To Be Uploaded (Should Be Legible):

• Scanned copy of Minimum Academic Qualification mark sheet/certificate or its equivalent as prescribed in Para 3.2 of the Notification.
• Certificate in proof of recognized sports achievement held on or after 01/04/2022.
• Certificate for proof of date of birth (SSC certificate or mark sheet indicating date of birth or school leaving certificate indicating date of birth).
• Scanned copy of caste certificate, for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates, wherever applicable as prescribed in Para 13.3 below.
• Scanned copy of Income certificate for candidates claiming fee exemption under EBC category. (as per format at Annexure B)

RRC WR Sports Quota 2024 : Invalid Applications/ Rejections

Candidates are requested to go through all instructions thoroughly before submitting ONLINE application. The applications can be rejected on one or more of the following reasons:

• Application without scanned signature/scanned signature in capital letters.
• Application without scanned photograph.
• Application with scanned photo but wearing Goggles or with cap or disfigured/small size or unrecognizable.
• Not possessing the prescribed Educational and Sports Qualification for the post on the last date of submission of application.
• Over-aged or under-aged, date of birth not filled or wrongly filled.
• Candidate’s name figuring in the debarred list.
• Multiple applications/varied details for the same post.
• Single application for two or more events/games.
• Any other form of irregularities.

RRC WR Recruitment: General Conditions

• Canvassing in any form shall disqualify the candidate.
• Candidates are required produce original caste certificates in proper Proforma from the appropriate authority in the Central Government format at the time of selection Trial, failing which he/she may be disqualified.
• Caste Certificate in cases of SC/ST/OBC/EWS Candidates issued by the Competent Authority not below the rank of Tehsildar should be uploaded at the time of online application. OBC candidates shall also upload OBC Non-Creamy-Layer Certificate in Central Government format issued on or after 01/04/2024 by the Competent Authority at the time of online application. Certificates should contain Caste, Date of Issue etc and bear the Seal of the Issuing Authority. Format of caste certificate for SC/ST candidates is enclosed as annexure ‘C’ and for OBC as annexure “D”. Format of Income certificate for EBC is enclosed as Annexure ‘B’ and format of EWS is enclosed as Annexure ‘F’. 

About RRC WR  

Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) vide their Letter No. E(NG)-II/96/RR-1/62 dated 18.07.2005 have delegated the powers of recruitment to Group ‘D’ posts to the General Managers. In pursuance to this, Railway Recruitment Cell was opened in Western Railway. The Railway Recruitment Cell has been entrusted with the responsibility to make recruitment to all Group ‘D’ posts from the open market.

RRC-WR is headed by the Chairman (Recruitment), assisted by one Assistant Personnel Officer (Recruitment) and other staff.

The Cell undertakes the recruitment for Group ‘D’ vacancies in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Ratlam, Bhavnagar, Vadodara Divisions, workshops and extra divisional units in the territorial jurisdiction of Western Railway.
